Nominations to the Commission are made by CEOs of WASC-accredited institutions. The nomination process begins in late autumn and concludes in early January.
In February, after all nominees have been vetted by the WASC Nominating Committee, a final slate of nominees is sent to the region for voting. As per the Bylaws, only CEOs of WASC-accredited institutions are eligible to vote in the Commission Election.
Following the conclusion of the balloting period in mid-March, election results are announced to the region. New commissioners are formally introduced to the region at the WASC Academic Resource Conference in April.
